January 10th, 2008fun with a 10.5 fisheye lens

Yesterday i rented a Nikkor 10.5 f/2.8 prime lens. Then i went off to Ms. Gurudarshan Kaur’s House, then we end up shooting here is the  Photo Gallery .  I did not realize how much fun this could actually be.

It just felt so great to be lost in taking pictures with a wide angle lens.  Or even striking a smooth pose under the guidance of ms.gurudarshan ji….  afterwards i felt like a little child, tapping in to my divinity.  it was such an awesome feeling just to be able to tap in to my creativity….  the whole time, gurudarshan ji and i just kept on laughing the whole time running around like little kids =).  it was an unreal experience.  I think this may be the next lens i buy.

Lets see Graduate School is going swell, classes are interesting, there are some difficult parts i am not too sure but most definitely  will have to work hard for it.   Lets see what else i’m still trying to find a job.  So yesterday i started up my 40 day sadhana for the post White Tantric Solstice…  this morning i had a rough time waking up, so i was not too sure whether i should have committed to my practice and do my practice… then i went to Guru Ji and took a hukam to see whether or not i should do my practice then Guru Ji blesses me with this amazing hukam, oh i love you guru nanak ji….

January 7th, 2008Listening…

so yesterday someone was playing this shabd in espanola sangat…..

t(h)aakur binathee karan jan aaeiou ||
O my Lord and Master, Your humble servant has come to offer this prayer.

sarab sookh aana(n)dh sehaj ras sunath thuhaaro naaeiou ||1|| rehaao ||
Hearing Your Name, I am blessed with total peace, bliss, poise and pleasure. ||1||Pause||

it was really amazing.  Now i was reading the shabad last night, and i kept on looking over it…. some how the whole time about these english translations of Bani tend to really irk me… especially how Naam apparently means Name?  this is not the case.  Naam means one’s own divinity or divine quality.  Hence punjabi/gurmukhi names aren’t really names but rather one’s divine quality… It makes sense Siri Singh Sahib  utilized  this hence his students were given names like Sat Shabd (True Sound) and other names….anyways getting too off topic ok so here in this shabd the Translation says “Hearing your Name , i am blessed with peace…”so i looked and i couldn’t find “naam” then i started chanting the words of the shabd then it hit my upside the head… if you say sunath really long you get the words “Sun” and “naath” or Naad sun means to listen where naad means sound current.           so anhaath shabad, there are so many shabds with these words, and then people ask “Why do you sikhs bow to this book?” “oh we sikhs, worship this holy book, its the sikh bible we bow too!”          freaking idiot! all of you  now i’m not going to curse instead i’m going to quote siri singh sahib from this lecture… How to create that energy when there’s not time? That is why father of this nation, Guru Gobind Singh, the real father, established Siri Guru Granth as the Guru for the Sikhs. He didn’t give you holy book. It is a damn lie! It is a rotten untruth! Those who called Siri Guru Granth a “Holy Book of the Sikhs,” are stupidly ignorant! It’s not! It’s a living process, a Guru! Organic!    -Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogi Ji lecture 09/18/1988  LA,  How the Guru Granth SAhib Works…   Now you may wonder how in the world is Living Guru a Organic Process? This Shabad Guru allows us to hear the anhaath sahad, the unheard sound.    in the shabad it says

sarab sookh aana(n)dh sehaj ras sunath thuhaaro naaeiou ||1|| rehaao ||                                          Hearing Your Name, I am blessed with total peace, bliss, poise and pleasure. ||1||Pause||

That by listening to my own divinity, experience my subtly i am able to experience bliss and peace.  also this bani is able to cut through one’s ego… it just does it so many times guru ji says it, even in Asa Di Vaar Guru Ji says,

                              ”Haumai Shabd Jalai”

                    ”The Shabd Cut/Burn my ego”

also i know another controversy is how come American/3ho Sikhs dont’ read their banis and do yoga for their sadhana… its simple, if you look at the psyche/bloodline of a punjabi sikh, and trace their ancestry majority of them 6-8 generations back, where in punjab, thus someone in their family had to have direct contact with Guru Ji… whether it was by passing or sangat or something… even if they weren’t sikh back then but it was still there… thus the subtly was still there too, where as an american person of european descent wasn’t that fortunate, thus the subtly wasn’t there, thus by doing yoga they are able to clean/cleanse their physical body, mental body (conscious and sub-conscious) and soul….

then when they read bani they will be able to fully experience it…
