I found this sweet sakhi on Sikh sangat.com
its really interesting =)

Once Bahadar Shah asked Guru Gobind Singh Jee:
“In Islam it is believed that if any person, despite how deviant, evil or sinful becomes a Muslim and instills withing faith on the Prophet Muhammad, reads the Kalma (verse from the Qu’ran) that in the Court of Allah that person’s sins and misdeeds will be washed away. Guru Sahib what are your views on this?”

Before answering, Guru Gobind Singh Sahib pulled out a coin from his pocket. He then gave it to his Sikh and signaled him to buy something from the Bazar (Market) with it.

A few minutes later, the Sikh returned back from the market. The Sikh came to Guru Sahib and said:
“Maharaj, this coin was not accepted at the Market.”

Satguru Jee picked up the coin and looking at said, “Why is this coin not accepted at the Bazar? It is made by the Emperor’s mint, and Bahadar Shah’s stamp is on it. Its outward appearance is also okay. So why wasn’t it accepted at the Bazar? Pass the coin to Bahadar Shah for him to have a look at it ask him to tell us what is wrong or lacking in this coin.”

It is said that while holding and examining the coin, Bahadar Shah said to Guru Jee, “Maharaj it is true that this coin was minted in my taksal (mint), that it is has been stamped and that the print is perfectly correct. Everything is okay. However despite this, the coin will be accepted in the Market because however the amount of pure gold there should be coating the coin, is insufficient in this one . Basically its inside is false, wrong.”

Guru Gobind Singh Jee then said to Bahadar Shah, “Badshah, you have now received the answer to your question.”

He replied:
“Maharaj, I don’t understand. Please explain to me in deeper detail.”

Satguru Jee said:
“Despite, whichever taksal (mint) the coin is minted and stamped by, If the coin is “kohtta”, false or inaccurate inside, it will not be accepted in the market. Similiarly if a person is “kohtta”, false, inside then he will not be accepted in the Court of Waheguru, despite whether he has the stamp of being a Muslim, Hindu or Sikh. Whether stamped as Christian or labelled as another religion, if we are not pure inside then we are not worthy of being accepted in God’s court.”

my soul has revolved around the Sun 24times…

when everyone else would look at me as the “cut kid”
who was half hindu
being excluded from sikh camps
and the other keshdhaari kids

Daddy, how come you never gave up on me?
when aunties and uncles would ask about where my daddy was
, i’d say i wasnt sure
i’d always knew something was weird and different about me,
then later i realized that i was labeled
as a bastard child
yet still Daddy, Kalgidhar vale,
you still didn’t give up on me,
i was so in the dirtyet you blesssed me with to be a member of your lineage
then i remember about my Great Great Great Grandfather,

and just taking me in
when i had become a burden to the rest of the world,
and no one understood me
Thanks for understanding me and always being there,
just a simple ardaas away =)

just so that i could practice it….

and bless them to be a part of our family?

Guru Gobind Singh Ji

January 26th, 2008Shakta & Shakti

At winter solstice, Deva Singh Khalsa and Gurujot Singh Khalsa (Espanola Vale) were telling about the practices of Aghoras. The whole point their bizarre and taboo rituals is to find God in everyone and everything, regardless how disturbing the practice or sadhana is. now i was not too sure, but it intrigued me so i went on Amazon and found the book here. I usually read this book on the MARTA transit, when i’m going to and coming back from school. This book is so amazing, and the practices of aghoris are quite interesting and shockingly similar to Sikhi…. Now this is where i’m going to have to make sure i do not put my foot in my mouth.
If i offend anyone, i apologize now.So i am going to be as graceful as i can be. imagine you have a coin and you have Sikhi/Kundalini Yoga on one side then you have Aghora/Kundalini Yoga on the other side..  Ok so the Aghoris have really bizare practices to say it lightly, such as cannibalism and use of freshly dead corpses in their sadhana… i am pretty sure many of you have seen the film “Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom” there Amrish Puri’s character is praying to Kali, saying “Kali Maa Shakti Dey” granted Speilberg was trying to dramatize it..in the book the author talks about his guru who has mastered this quick and dangerous sadhana to get Kali to come to him…..

Now here is the thing that is going to get me in real trouble.  Ok another name of Shiva, is Mahakala, The Great Destroyer, because he is the embodiment of Shakta (male energy), Shakti is the female creative energy of the Universe, where Shakta is male side of that energy… Ok so when you read Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s bani, with in Sri Dasam Granth Ji Di, he speaks about this greatness of the Goddess Chandi/Durga/Indra in Bani/Ballad  with in Durga Di Vaar/Chandi Di Vaar.  Guru Gobind Singh Ji maharaj refers to Waheguru as Mahakal , if you read Akal Ustat with the couple of paurees before Choupai sahib di paath, Maharaj refers to Mahakal. Then further with in the granth, also with in a Nihaang Gutka, there is a bani called Dhumalla Di Salokh,
with in his salokh Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj wrote about the significance of the dhumalla and how it came with in Sikhi.  The saakhi goes that one day Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj asked the sangat is there anyone out there who knows the roop of Mahakal? so for two week Akaali Nihaang Baba Fateh Singh Ji, the youngest sahibzadia, , went in to samadhi for two weeks, he did an ardaas (prayer) to Waheguru to get the roop of Mahakal.  So with in his deep meditation , Baba Fateh Singh Ji saw 25 Shaheed Singhs, with huge Dhumallas, and with in their dhumallay they had Chand and Toras (Crescent moon khandas) also with chakkars and amazing amounts of shastaars as well.  Another which was added was the Farla, which is the extra fabric which is on top of a Farladhari Nihaang.

So when Akaali Baba Fateh Singh Ji went  to Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, he told him that his is the roop of Mahakal. from that they forth Guru Gobind Singh ji maharaj made it that he would bless any of his Singhs with Farla if they displayed vast amounts of knowledge also if they were generals as well.  Its a very high honour to be blessed with a Farla….  so back to how this relates to the book i was reading… about the aghoras, ok so any Nihaang Singh, who is Farladhari or Farla Vale, his title is Mahakaal, which means not that they are literally God, how ever they have the roop of Mahakal.  or technically Mahakaal means the “Great Destroyer” now during war this was rather important thing to have to have that awesome energy of Shakta , Akal Purakh’s to cut through one’s own doubts and attachments to this world and just to stay present with inthe moment and live in that harmony of the Shakti and Shakta.

now how are sikhs the flipside of aghoris is simple we both have pratices, which are made to kill one’s ego and to find union with mahakal.  Both groups worship Mahakaal, Death, in the sense of the death of one’s own duality and dependence upon maya, and just coming to the realization that we are all impermanent beings and Mahakaal is the ultimate power that we have to realize.
