What is it about Trader Joe’s? Last year I was in our local TJ in Hadley, MA, and I received some evil looks as people noted my turban — not 1 minute had passed and I noticed that a small girl was sobbing in the corner.. others were walking by her. I approached her, found out that she was 4 years old and was separated from her mother.. she eagerly accepted my offer to help her find her ‘Mommy’, and I lifted her onto my shoulder, stepped on a box (I’m not tall…) , and loudly asked the people in the store to help me find the girls mother.. one woman identified herself as the girl’s mother’s friend, and went to get the mother outside, who had been looking for the girl. All ended well, and I notice that the two women who have given me the dirtiest looks upon entering the store, not clapped and one gave me a ‘High Five’ at the cash register.. we were not tasked by Guru ji to be meek and indifferent.
Waheguru!
